Children with chronic liver disease often have smaller and weaker muscles. This can make them get sick more often, grow slower, and get tired easily when doing everyday activities. This affects their overall health and quality of life. Even babies with this disease might face these challenges. Ultrasound is a new and safe tool to watch how muscles grow. Our study uses ultrasound to monitor muscle content and size in infants and children from 2 months to 6 years old with chronic liver disease. We check their muscle, weight, and height, and do other tests when they enter the study and again at 6, 9, and 15 months later. We also use motor tools to test how strong their muscles are. With this study, we want to see how muscles grow as the disease conditions change using non-invasive methods such as ultrasound, so we can help develop targeted treatments to address this. This is important to ensure that children with liver disease grow well and have muscles that are strong and healthy.
