Some rare types of cancer that affect the uterus and ovaries are very aggressive and hard to treat. Many people with these cancers do not survive more than a year after being diagnosed because current treatments don't work well enough, and the disease spreads quickly. Our research team has created research models in the lab to study these cancers more closely. Using these models, we tested many existing medicines and found that a heart medicine called digoxin looks promising in fighting these cancers. In this project, we will explore how digoxin works against these aggressive cancer types and whether it works even better when used together with other cancer medicines. Our goal is to find new and more effective treatment options for women fighting these aggressive cancers.
