Evaluating the accuracy of oscillometric blood pressure in pregnancy
Evaluating the accuracy of oscillometric blood pressure in pregnancy High blood pressure in pregnancy has many adverse effects on both the mother and fetus. Measuring blood pressure in pregnancy can be challenging but is of critical importance in diagnosing and treating high blood pressure. We plan to compare automatic blood pressure measurements to auscultatory (listening) blood pressure measurements in pregnant women. We have developed an automatic blood pressure machine where we can study how automatic blood pressure measuremnts are derived and how these measurements might be different in pregnant women. We believe this study will help us learn how to measure blood pressure more accurately in pregnant women.
