In recent years, the number of cancer treatments have increased substantially, making the care in gynecologic oncology more complex. In this landscape, multidisciplinary clinics utilizing coordinated efforts of healthcare professionals and allied health providers have been used to provide high quality treatment and care to patients. However, despite a support for these approaches, the effective utilization of multidisciplinary clinics in this particular setting has not been thoroughly explored. Our objective is to illustrate an example of a multidisciplinary clinic at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta, where patients with cancer of the ovary on maintenance oral treatment are being followed. We will look at the type of patients, outcomes, and conduct interviews to understand their experience and look for ways we can improve. We hope to highlight the framework necessary to have a successful multidisciplinary program, as well as report on patient specific outcomes and experiences through this clinic.
