My current research activities are oriented around the investigation of a variety pediatric orthopedic conditions and their treatment. I am collaborating with the physicians in the pediatric emergency on a study examining initial pain management in children with acute fractures. I am also the principal investigator on two clinical projects in their early stages. One is examining risk factors for developing growth arrest in children who have sustained fractures involving the growth plate. The other is a randomized clinical trial designed to compare the effectiveness of 3 commonly employed treatments for idiopathic toe-walking. This latter project is being conducted in collaboration with the gait lab and the pediatric physiatrists at the Glenrose Hospital.
