My research activities are focused on the auditory problems including hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders. The general objectives are getting more understanding of the behavior of Neuronal interactions in these cases which eventually enable us to find alternative ways for intervention. For example on the hearing loss side, hearing amplification and even implantable hearing devices, although they did a great job, were different in outcome mostly due to different responses of the central components in some patients. Tinnitus problems are more complicated: Most of the available methods of interventions do not actually manage tinnitus. Instead, they are rather rehabilitative. It is crucial for researchers as well as for educators now to take the hearing intervention to a different level that can tackle the unsolved problems, rather than advising the patient to live with them.
