Funding of up to $1,000 is available to support academic members who sponsor a visiting lecturer for an open (in-person) scientific research presentation that seeks to offer an opportunity for WCHRI member engagement and discussion with the visiting lecturer. All funded Scientific Knowledge Exchange Program events will be broadly promoted by WCHRI. This funding program is non-competitive and offered as a benefit of WCHRI membership.
Eligibility
All applications to WCHRI must align with our relevance criteria in order to be eligible for funding.
Eligibility criteria is as follows:
- Events must be in-person and at the University of Alberta.
- WCHRI members must be provided an opportunity to meet with the visiting lecturer.
- Visiting lecturers must be academic faculty leading independent research that is relevant to women’s and/or children’s health.
- Visiting lecturers may not hold an appointment/ affiliation with the University of Alberta.
- Academic members may hold one grant from this program per fiscal year.
- The WCHRI academic member applying for program funding must hold a full-time academic or clinical faculty appointment at the University of Alberta.
- The applicant must be a WCHRI academic member for not less than one year prior to application, except new recruits with an academic appointment of less than one year at the time of the application deadline.
- Applications must be submitted no less than 60 days prior to the event start date.
- Compliance with University of Alberta guidelines and policies supporting engagement in research is required.
Program eligibility is established upon submission of the completed application forms.
Scientific Knowledge Exchange Program call for applications
In order to access the application form and support program requirements, the following applies:
- The applicant must submit the WCHRI Scientific Knowledge Exchange Program Application Form.
- WCHRI will send an institutional sponsor request form to the academic member within five business days after the application form requirements have been met. The institutional sponsorship request form link is unique to each applicant.
- The applicant must complete the institutional sponsorship request form requirements by the specified deadline.
