Leaders in Research speaker series: Lynne Postovit

Wednesday, June 19, 2019 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

"Finding the cure: How big ideas, unconventional models and strong research communities are driving change in ovarian and breast cancer"

Discoveries in cancer research to build better outcomes requires creativity--like using unconventional models like zebrafish to discover new cancer targets--as well as a supportive environment for diverse scholars to come together to successfully move ideas from research into practice. Hear about Dr. Postovit’s voyage across the country to drive research from the bench to the public.

Lynne Postovit is an associate professor in oncology, co-director of the Cancer Research Institute of Northern Alberta (CRINA) and holds the Sawin-Baldwin Chair in Ovarian Cancer. She also holds the Dr. Anthony Noujaim Legacy Chair in cancer and is the Alberta Innovates translational chair in cancer. Her research focuses on improving the detection and treatment of ovarian and breast cancers.
