Understand how rare genetic changes contribute to the etiology of autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Appreciate professional recommendations for genetic testing in the setting of autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Understand key concepts relevant to psychiatric genetics, including heritability, pleiotropy, de novo genetic changes, single nucleotide variants, and copy number variants.
The webinar is presented by WCHRI member Daniel Moreno De Luca, a CASA Research Chair who mentors and leads world-class research in the Department of Psychiatry. He works closely with community groups and the health system to advocate for evidence-based treatment for children and youth with psychiatric conditions. He aims to drive improvements in child and youth psychiatric care across the province and beyond.
