In this keynote conversation, Lewis Cardinal invites participants to reflect on what it means to move beyond territorial acknowledgement toward meaningful, accountable, and reciprocal relationships with Indigenous Peoples and communities. Grounded in storytelling, land-based understanding, and Indigenous relational ways of knowing, this session will explore how ethical relationships—not simply institutional intentions—must guide the future of health research. Participants will be encouraged to consider how responsibility, humility, and sacred relationality can reshape research systems, governance, and community engagement in ways that honour Indigenous sovereignty, lived experience, and collective wellbeing.
